Prince
at the Tower – the Prince of Wales has recently visited
the new Education Centre at the Tower of London.
The centre was designed by CT+G and completed last year and
represents the modern face of the Tower – ensuring the
Prince a more enjoyable experience of the Tower than some of
his ancestors. (June 2003) |

New
Offices for Community Fund – relocation of the Community
Fund’s Northern Ireland office is nearing completion.
The Fund desperately needed new premises, having run out of
space at its existing premises. The Practice has advised the Fund in negotiating the
acquisition of new premises at the Cromac Wood development just
south of the City Centre, also advising on space planning and
fitting out. The new premises are due to be ready for occupation in
August 2003. (June 2003)

Party
Walls – even Westminster Abbey has them – the Practice has
recently been appointed to act as Party Wall Surveyor for works to
the shop at the front of Westminster Abbey on what must be one of
London’s oldest party walls.

New
Police Training Centre Open – work has recently completed on
the new Metropolitan Police Service Training Centre at Gravesend.
CT+G acted as project architect on a complex scheme that
involved conversion of the former National Sea Training Centre and
construction of new residential, administrative and specialist
buildings. This highly
specialised residential training centre was provided for MPS under
PFI by Equion. (June 2003)

HQ for Premier International Foods - the practice has
recently completed the fitting out of PIF's new HQ, part of
the Centrium development in St Albans. Completed within a
tight timescale, the offices provide a new home for such
famous brands as Typhoo tea, Crosse & Blackwell, Cadburys
hot beverages, London Herb & Spice Company. |

South
London Development Site - the sale of Hanson Group's
former Smith's Meters site in Streatham has recently
completed - CT+G advised on both planning and disposal. |

More
for the Met - with work nearing completion on the
Metropolitan Police training facility at Gravesend, we are now
well advanced with the construction of four South East London
Police Stations at Bromley, Deptford, Lewisham and Sutton. |

And
even more police stations - we are currently producing
detailed working drawings for 16 police stations for the
Greater Manchester Police Authority. Like the
Metropolitan Police projects this is a PFI project, CT+G
working with the Raymond Smith Partnership for Equion. |

CT+G
off to the Tower - we have now completed the Historic
Royal Palaces' new educational facility and library at the
Tower of London. The new
facility was officially opened by the Constable of the Tower, General Sir Roger Wheeler GCB CBE,
on Friday 14 June 2002.

Facilities
Management - CT+G now employs a qualified Facilities
Manager. More clients were wanting FM related
advice and we have now added this service to complement the
Practice's broad range of property advice. Recent
instructions include setting up building services for the
Community Fund / Arts Council for England / Heritage Lottery
Fund offices in Nottingham and for Premier International Foods
new UK HQ offices in St Albans (find

Expert
Witness Success - CT+G Partner Charles Tapson has recently
acted as Expert Witness instructed by the successful claimant
in the lease renewal case Horserace Betting Levy Board and
Grosvenor West End Properties. The claimant
required a new lease to a particular date for operational
reasons, the defendant had plans for redevelopment and wanted
to terminate the new lease a year earlier. With no
clear cut answer, the Judge (His Honour Judge Roger Cooke) had
to undertake a "balancing exercise" - judgment was
made in favour of the claimant. (find
